MONTANA 21cm Russian RPK Coilspring Aluminum & Red vintage automatic knife

RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage switchblade knife with MONTANA on both sides in the handles. These knives are believed to have been made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 21cm (8 1/4 inches) open and 4 3/8 inches closed with an aluminum frame. The unusual saber grind blade is full and has all of the original finish with no markings and some light scratches. The scales are very attractive with green bird and the word MONTANA with red background under clear acrylic and are in great condition. The knife works well with the blade tip deep & centered closed, smooth Strong snap and good lockup when open with about 1/8" down at the tip that springs back when you let go. It is button open, button close. Very cool vintage Russian RPK switchblade. VG+ condition.
