This is a Bullfighter lever knife made in Japan for the Mexican tourist trade between the late 1950s and through the 1970s. These were very popular with tourists and were made in three different sizes with different blade shapes, different colors and some variations on the scenes. A lot of fun to collect. This knife has dark green background with a Gold dragon on the front and bullfighter (matador) on the rear and is missing a chunk of the clear acrylic by the center pin on the front scale. The knife measures 4 1/8" closed and over 7.25 inches open with steel liners and brass bolsters, lever and lanyard ring. It has the less-common bayonet style blade that has been sharpened and seen use over the years. The blade is approx 92% full and is marked STAINLESS STEEL. The knife works fairly well. Blade tip sits below liner closed, opens fully and locks. Approx 3/16" up and down movement and some side to side. Rattles if shaken when open and the blade overextends straight position if you push on the tip when open. Overall a good working knife in G- condition.
