Logan Smyth Venice FL Orange Paratrooper knife New Old Stock

Logan Smyth MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife. This knife was made for the US government under contract , but they could not meet the quality standards set for them, so they lost the contract back to Camillus in the 1990s. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 3/8 inches with clip blade open and it has steel liners. The clip blade opens automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked LOGAN/SMYTH VENICE, FL and is full with original factory finish and some scratches. The hook blade is like new and has spring tension as it should. The orange jigged scales are in great condition with just a little shrinkage and not quite as bright as most. The knife works great with the clip blade tip below the liners closed, good snap and average lockup for these when open with about 1/4 inch up and down and some side to side. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX+ condition.
