LL Bean Single switchblade 3 3/8"

This is an LL Bean single blade switchblade made under contract by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY for LL Bean from 1937 to 1943. It was touted to be LL's favorite pocket knife in the catalogs. It measures 3 3/8 inches closed and just under 6 inches open with brass liners. The tang is stamped LL Bean over Freeport, ME on the front and Pats 09,10 &16 on the rear. The blade is full with some of the original LL Bean etch still legible on the blade! Heavy patina and some light scratches. The Butter and Molasses celluloid scales are in excellent condition with only light signs of handling. Works great with blade tip seating deep, good snap and good lockup. I do have an original LL Bean catalog featuring the knife that I would offer to the winner at a low price.
