KABAR Medium (Baby) GRIZZLY Vintage Stag Automatic knife vintage

Vintage KABAR Medium (Baby) GRIZZLY Stag Automatic knife made by Union Cut Co sometime between 1920 and 1950. This is the medium size switchblade made with the KABAR stamp and has been referred to for many years by collectors as the "Baby Griz". Until recent years it was little known that there were actually THREE sizes so this is technically the "Medium" Grizzly. The smaller version is shaped different and is Extremely rare!

This knife measures 5.25 inches closed and 9 3/16 inches open with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, button and pins. The clip blade is 100% full with original factory finish and looks great with some light scratches and staining. The tang is stamped KA BAR REG US PAT OFF on the front and UNION CUT CO OLEAN NY on the reverse.

The scales are genuine stag with lots of character and very dark with no cracks are are gorgeous! The knife works great with blade tip just below the liners closed, strong snap and tight lockup with barely a hint of movement at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken with the blade open as many of these old Grizzlies do. EX+ condition.
