KABAR 21105 Vintage Teardrop Lever Stag automatic knife

Vintage KABAR 21105 Teardrop Lever Stag automatic knife  This knife was made by the Union Cutlery Co of Olean, NY most likely between 1920s and early 40s. It was designated the model 21105 and it measures 4.5 inches closed and just under 8 inches open and has thick brass liners. The bolsters and lever are made of nickel silver. The saber grind blade is mostly full and shiny and appears to have been professionally cleaned. The tang is marked KA-BAR on the front though a little hard to read because the tang has pitting and was cleaned. Clearly stamped UNION CUT CO OLEAN NY USA on the rear of the tang. The stag scales are in nice condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and tight lockup open! This is may be a transitional knife made between the older Teardrop lever knives and the newer rectangular lever. The reason I say this is that the lever is slightly different than most of the early Kabar teardrop levers in that the cutout is slightly different shape. It is also possible that the lever has been replaced so I'm pricing it according to that assumption, which will make it a Great deal if it really is a transitional change! ;^) Interesting and very nice old Kabar switchblade.
