Vintage TARRY LEVIGNE 28cm Italian Transitional Stiletto switchblade knife with lizard (gecko) stamp made in Italy for the French market in the 1960s-70s. These contract knives were the best quality Italian switchblades of the day, made to the same standards as the earlier 1950s picklocks . The knife measures 27.5cm (10 7/8 inches) open and just under 6 inches closed with D stamped brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, plated button and safety cap. The flat swedge blade is 99% full or better and retains all of the factory finish with some light scratches and has Tarry Levigne stamping with a picture of a LIZARD (gecko) over IMPORT and the backside is stamped INOX. The genuine horn scales are mostly translucent green & cream streaks with some black and are in good condition. The knife works great with blade tip deep and centered closed, strong snap and very good lockup open with just a hint of up and down movement at the tip. No rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX+ condition.
