Vintage Imperial keychain switchblade with cracked ice swirl celluloid wrapped handles hand painted to be sold as a souvenir knife. The knife was made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s and was designated the model JM96PB. It came with a beaded chain to attach keys, etc. The knife measures 2.25 inches closed and 3.75 inches open with brass liners and steel button & safety. The blade is stamped IMPERIAL USA with two patent numbers on the back P 2170537 2281782. The blade is nearly full with some scratches, light spotting and staining. The Cracked Ice (faux pearl) celluloid scales are in excellent condition and hand painted with some sort of water/sunset scene as was often done to sell these knives to tourists. The knife works well with the blade tip deep closed, opens fully with kickback as most do (but does usually bounce back to open position and tight lockup. Safety works. VG- condition.
