Vintage Imperial toothpick style candystripe switchblade with finger guards. This knife was made in Providence, RI in the 1950s by the Imperial Knife Co. It measures 4.25 inches closed and just under 7 1/2 inches open and has steel liners. The blade is decent, but has loss from sharpening use and is approx 1/4 inch short (about 92%) with patina and lots of light scratches. Blade marked Imperial PROV USA on the front and the back is marked with 2 patent numbers ending in 37 and 82. The scales are hollow metal with candystripe celluloid wraps that are in nice condition with less common crossguards (finger guards built into the top bolsters. The knife works well. Blade tip seats slightly above liners closed, opens strong and locks open well about 1/16" up and down at the tip. Safety works. VG condition.
