Vintage Imperial keychain switchblade with smoked pearl celluloid wrapped handles that is a survivor of a house fire many years ago. The knife was made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s and was designated the model JM96PB. It came with a beaded chain on a shackle to attach keys, etc. The knife measures 2.25 inches closed and 3 13/16 inches open with brass liners and steel button & safety. The blade is stamped IMPERIAL USA with two patent numbers on the back ending in 37 & 82. The blade is full and dark from the fire with scratches rust & pitting. The smoked pearl celluloid scales are normal gray color on the back and the front is brown from heat exposure in the first. Top bolsters have slight dents, but not bad. The knife works well with the blade tip seated deep, opens strong, & locks open well with NO KICKBACK, which is rare on these little knives. Safety does work. G- condition.
