Vintage Imperial keychain switchblade with cracked ice swirl celluloid wrapped handles with rare Double Stamped tang. The knife was made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s and was designated the model JM96PB. It came with a beaded chain to attach keys, etc. The knife measures 2.25 inches closed and 3.75 inches open with brass liners. The blade is stamped IMPERIAL USA with secondary stamp lower that reads "IMPER US" at a slight angle with two patent numbers on the back ending in 37 & 82. The blade is full with some light scratches. The Cracked Ice (faux pearl) celluloid scales are in excellent condition. The knife works well with the blade tip deep closed, opens fully with kickback as most do and very good lockup. Since the blade bounces back due to the strong spring you usually have to push it open again so it will lock and it does lock up nicely. Very common problem with these, but I guess it just adds to their character. Safety works. EX+ condition.
