Imperial toothpick switchblade made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s. The black wrapped scales are commonly referred to as imitation bone and are hollow steel wrapped in a thin layer of celluloid. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 5/8 inches open with steel liners. Stamped Imperial Prov USA and it had2 sets of patent numbers on the rear, but stamped very light and looks like someone might have cleaned the back tang. The blade is full and shiny. The knife works well with blade tip seating below the liners, good snap and average lockup for a used Hammer Brand with about 1/8 inch movement each was. Does rattle slightly if shaken with blade open, as most of these do with a lot of use. Safety works. EX- condition
