Hammer Brand toothpick switchblade made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s and was designated them model # JM-99-PB. The black wrapped scales are commonly referred to as imitation bone and are hollow steel wrapped in a thin layer of celluloid. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 5/8 inches open with steel liners. Stamped Hammer Brand USA with a picture of an arm holding a hammer on the tang and 2 sets of patent numbers on the rear that are hard to make out due to some light pitting. The blade is full and mostly shiny with some scattered light pitting. Nice blade overall. Scales are in very nice condition. Works well with blade tip seating below the liners, good snap and above average lockup for a used Hammer Brand. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open, as most of these do with a lot of use. Safety works.
