Vintage Hammer Brand Utility Jack JM98PB automatic knife made in the 1950s with Art by George Ahgupuk was made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI and later had art added by famous Eskimo American artist George Ahgupuk. The art features a Dog sled on the front and Walruses on the backside. Very unique piece of art. The knife measures 3.5 inches closed and 6 3/16 inches open with steel liners, brass button and nickel silver safety. The blade is marked HAMMER BRAND USA with a picture of an arm holding a hammer and the back is marked with two patent numbers, 2170537 & 2281782. The clip blade is mostly full at about 95% with dark patina, light scratches and a little peppering. The scales are hollow steel with wraps, in this case original artwork and are in good used condition. The knife works well with blade tip deep in the well closed, good snap and locks open with extra movement each way at the tip. Rattles if shaken with the blade open. Safety works. G+ condition.
