Vintage Hammer Brand Serpentine Utility Jack switchblade from the 1950s made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI and was designated the model JM98PB. This one is a Souvenir knife from Washington, DC. The knife measures 3.5 inches closed and 6.25 inches open with brass liners with steel button & nickel silver plated safety. The clip blade is 99% full or better and shiny with some light scratches and the tang is stamped HAMMER BRAND USA with a picture of an arm holding a hammer and the back is marked P 2170537 over 2201782. The handles (scales) are hollow steel with celluloid wrap in Faux Pearl (cracked ice) color which is the most common with these. The wraps are in very nice condition with minimal shrinkage and the front wrap says WASHINGTON, DC, though hard to make out due to wear to the raised letters. The knife works GREAT with the blade tip seating deep when closed, strong snap and TIGHT lockup open! Safety does not work properly. EX+ condition. 100% money back guarantee including return shipping if you're not happy with this knife!
