Vintage Hammer Brand toothpick style switchblade made in Providence, RI in the 1950s by the Imperial Knife Co and designated model #JM-90-PBC. This knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 1/2 inches open and has steel liners, brass button & nickel silver safety. The clip blade is 97% full with patina and light scratches and is marked Hammer Brand USA on the front with a picture of an arm holding a hammer. The blade spine has file work. The back is marked with 2 patent numbers ending in 37 & 82. The scales are hollow metal wrapped in Green Pearl Red swirl celluloid with some issues. The knife works well. Blade tip centered and below the liners closed, opens fully and locks, but not tight with about 1/8" movement each way and rattles if shaken when open. Nice old American fisherman's switchblade in average used condition. Safety works. VG condition.
