Hammer Brand toothpick made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s pattern number JM90PBFC. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7.5 inches open with brass liners and nickel silver button and safety. The clip blade with fish scaler grooves is 95% full with scratches & spotting and the tang is stamped Hammer Brand USA with picture of an arm holding a hammer on the front and PAT NOS over 2170537 & 2281782 on the backside. It appears that someone added a neat etch to the blade that also reads Hammer Brand with an arm holding a hammer between the words. This is a less common version Fisherman's knife with fish scaler blade. The handles are hollow steel wrapped in Faux Pearl (Cracked Ice) celluloid and are in very good condition. The knife works well with blade tip below liners and centered closed, opens fully and locks open with about 1/8" up and down and side to side at the tip. Rattles if shaken when open as most of these do that have been used over the years. Safety works. VG condition.
