Hammer Brand Imperial toothpick crossguard candystripe vintage switchblade
Hammer Brand toothpick made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence,RI in the 1950s pattern number JM101PB. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 9/16 inches open and is stamped Hammer Brand USA with picture of an arm holding a hammer on the front and PAT NOS over two patent numbers on the back 2170537 & 2281782. This is the less common version with finger guards. The scales are hollow steel wrapped in Candystripe celluloid and are in very good condition. The blade is 96% full and shiny with some light scratches, light spotting and some light pitting on and near the tang. The knife works well with blade tip even with the liners closed, opens strong and locks open with about 3/16" up an down and 1/8" side to side, pretty average. Rattles if shaken when open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
