This is a Hammer Brand toothpick made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence,RI in the 1950s. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 5/8 inches open and is stamped Hammer Brand USA with picture of an arm holding a hammer on the front and PAT NOS over two patent numbers on the back. This is the less common version with finger guards. The scales are hollow steel wrapped in Candystripe celluloid and are in very good condition. The blade is 96% full and shiny with some light scratches and minor scuffs. The knife works well with blade tip sitting deep when closed, opens strong and locks open with a little movement each way. Barely rattles if shaken when open with approx 1/8 inch up and down and slight side to side. The knife is in EX condition and is a really nice example of a working vintage American guarded toothpick switchblade from the early 1950s. 100% money back guarantee including return shipping if not happy with this knife.
