Vintage Hammer Brand toothpick made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence,RI in the early 1950s designated model JM90PB. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 9/16 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver plated brass button & safety. The scales are hollow steel wrapped in Copper swirl black streaked celluloid which is a clue that it is a knife made in the early 1950s when they used more color variation. The wraps are in good condition with one missing piece on the front as you can see in the pics. The clip blade is 98% full with dark patina and light scratches and scattered pitting and some spotting and is stamped Hammer Brand USA with picture of an arm holding a hammer on the front and P 2170537 over 2281782 on the back. The knife works well with blade tip even with the liners when closed, opens strong and locks open with about 1/16" movement each way at the tip. Rattles if shaken when open as most of these old Imperial toothpicks do. Safety works. VG condition.
