Vintage Hammer Brand Candystripe toothpick style switchblade made in Providence, RI in the 1950s by the Imperial Knife Co with fish scaler blade. It was designated the model JM-90-PBFC and measures 4.25 inches closed and 7.5 inches open and has brass liners, nickel silver plated button and safety. The clip fish scaler blade is 98% full and shiny with some spotting and light scratches and the tang is stamped Hammer Brand USA with a picture of an arm holding a hammer. The backside is marked PAT NOS 2170537 over 2281782. The scales are hollow metal wrapped in Candystripe celluloid with a little spotting underneath and light handling scuffs. The knife works well with blade tip seating deep and centered closed, opens fully and locks open with about 1/8" movement both ways at the tip. Does rattle if shaken when open as most of these do. Safety works. VG+ condition.
