Vintage Hammer Brand toothpick style switchblade made in Providence, RI in the 1950s by the Imperial Knife Co. It was designated the model JM-90-PBC and measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 5/8 inches open and has steel liners. The blade is nearly full and shiny with most of the factory finish intact with some light spotting. It's marked Hammer Brand USA on the front with a picture of an arm holding a hammer. The back is marked with 2 patent numbers. The scales are hollow metal wrapped in Blue Pearl & Yellow swirl celluloid and are very attractive with some shrinkage and a small piece missing on the backside near top bolster. The knife works well. Blade tip seats about 1/8" above liners closed, opens fully and locks with approximately 1/4" up and down and some side to side movement. Rattles if shaken when open. Safety works. Nice old American fisherman's switchblade in VG+ condition.
