Vintage Hammer Brand toothpick switchblade made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s and was designated them model # JM99PB. Most of these had black wrapped scales, but I believe a certain percentage were made like this without the wraps. These are commonly referred to as imitation bone and are pressed hollow steel. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 7/16 inches open with steel liners, button & safety. The clip blade is 96% full with patina, light scratches and some spotting and the tang is stamped Hammer Brand USA with a picture of an arm holding a hammer on the tang and P 2170537 2201782 on the rear. Scales are in very nice condition. Works well with blade tip seating below the liners, good snap and average lockup with about 3/16" up and down at the tip and does rattle if shaken with blade open, as most of these do with a lot of use. Safety works. VG condition.
