Guardian GERMANY 11cm German Tortoise Lever Etched automatic knife

Vintage Guardian GERMANY 11cm German Tortoise Lever Etched automatic knife with engraved bolsters & lever. These knives were made in Germany most likely in the 1980s and are similar to Boker lever knives. German automatic knives are usually referred to by the length closed in cm rounded down. This knife measures 11.1cm closed and 19.7cm (7.75 inches) open with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters & lever. The clip blade is 100% full with original finish and is etched with a picture of an Eagle over GUARDIAN, similar to the etch used by the Press Button Knife Co of Walden, NY in the early 1900s. The scales (handles) are tortoise celluloid, or similar synthetic material and very attractive, but likely not original since most of these were made with stag scales. The knife works great with blade tip below the liners closed, strong snap and Tight lockup open. No rattle if shaken with blade open. EX+ condition.
