This knife was made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the late 1920s. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and 7 inches with both blades open and has nickel silver liners. Each blade is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. The scales (handles) appear to be Sterling Silver, but are not marked as such and are not magnetic, so probably German silver with ornate design and are in very good condition. The shackle appears to be a replacement. The blades are mostly full with heavy patina, scratches and some peppering. The knife functions well with no peek when closed. Spring is good. Large blade opens fully and locks, small blade has strong kickback, but tight lockup when pushed into the open position. Large blade has approximately 1/4 inch up and down at the tip when open. Shackle is smooth and most likely not original to the knife. Overall a decent working example of a 100 year old American switchblade designed by George Schrade.
