This knife was made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s. It's the smaller size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 2 7/8" closed & under 6 inches open with brass liners. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. The blades are mostly full with heavy patina, light scratches and some peppering. The main blade is stamped Flylock REG US PAT OFF and the back tang is stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN. The small blade has the same front markings as the big blade, but the back is stamped US PAT MARCH 5 1918. The scales (handles) are Green mottled celluloid and are in good condition with a hairline by the center pin on the front and a small chip and light cracks near the button on the rear scale. Missing the shackle. The knife functions well with no peek when closed. Blades open as they should with good average lockup when open. Small blade has kickback and large blade over-travels just a bit when opening. Nice 100 year old American double switchblade.
