Vintage Flylock Scout hawk bill Black Wormgroove switchblade knife made by the Flylock Knife Co a division of the Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1918 and 1929. The knife measures 4 1/8" closed and 6 7/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters & button. The hawkbill blade is 96% full and mostly shiny with light scratches and missing a little at the tip, but the original "Flylock with wings" etch is still pretty strong and easy to read on the face of the blade! The black worm groove synthetic scales are in very good condition with no cracks and show some signs of handling/use over the years. The knife works great with blade tip below liners closed, strong snap and good lockup with about 1/16" up and down at the tip when open. It does rattle if shaken with blade open as most of these do. VG+ condition.
