Flylock Knife Co Letter Opener Green Cream mottled American Jacket automatic knife
Flylock Knife Co Letter Opener Green Cream mottled American Jacket automatic knife
This is an antique Flylock switchblade letter opener from the 1920s. It was made by the Flylock Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT and was designated the model # 1122LO. It measures 10.75 inches with the blade open and just over 8.75 inches when it's closed and has brass liners. The blade is mostly full with patina and light pitting. Blade is stamped Flylock REG US PAT OFF on the front and FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear tang. The green & cream mottled celluloid scales are in good condition with one hairline crack by the button. The letter opener has seen use, but also in good condition. Works well with blade tip below liners closed, opens fully and locks open well. These are fun to collect and display well. Good working example of a 100 year old switchblade letter opener knife. This knife will be featured in the book Antique American Switchblades 2 when it comes out and comes with a laminated COA (certificate of authenticity) to prove it's the actual knife from the book. VG+ condition
