Flylock Hickey Pipe & Supply Co. double vintage 1920s Automatic knife made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and 6.5 inches with both blades open. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. Both blades are 90% full or better and both have been lightly cleaned (sanded). Both blades are stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO REG US PAT OFF on the front. THE FLY LOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear of the big blade with "THE FLYLOCK" arched and US PAT MARCH 5, 1918 on the back of the small blade. The handles (scales) are yellow cream celluloid in good condition with advertising for HICKEY PIPE & SUPPLY CO LOSANGELES COALING GA on the front. The knife functions well with both blade tips even or below the liners closed, both open fully with some kickback and both lock open with some movement at the tips if wiggled. Rattles if shaken with blades open as most of these 100+ year old switchblade doubles do. G condition.
