FLYLOCK Double Smoked Pearl antique automatic knife made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/16 inches with both blades open with brass liners and nickel silver buttons. Spear/pen blade combo with both blades 97% full or better with patina, light scratches and some spotting & light peppering. The main blade is stamped Flylock REG US PAT OFF and the back tang is stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN. The small blade has the same front markings as the big blade, but the back is stamped US PAT MARCH 5 1918. The scales (handles) are Light green smoked pearl celluloid and are in good condition. The knife functions well with both blade tips below the liners when closed, both open fully with good lockup when open with a little movement at the tips. Rattles if shaken with blades open. Small blade has kickback. Nice 100 year old American double switchblade. VG+ condition.
