Vintage American double switchblade knife made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and over 7 inches open with brass liners. The knife has two blades, each one is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. The blades are mostly full with most of the original finish intact and patina, scratches and some peppering. The main blade is stamped Flylock over REG US PAT OFF and the back tang is stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO over B'PORT CONN. The small blade has the same front markings as the big blade, but the back is stamped US PAT MARCH 5 1918. The scales (handles) are black celluloid and are in good condition and have advertising COMPLIMENTS OF MONTGOMERY WARD & CO on the front. The knife functions well with both blade tips below the liners closed, both blades open fully when buttons slid and good lockup. Nice 100 year old American double switchblade. EX condition.
