This knife was made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the late 1920s. It's the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/8 inches open with steel liners. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. Both blades stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO REG US PAT OFF on the front. FLY LOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear of the big blade and US PAT MARCH 5, 1918 on the back of the small blade. The scales (handles) are smooth nickel silver with beaded border and in great condition. This may have been a salesman's sample since the front scale looks like it was originally gold wash and much of it has worn off. The blades are 98% full or better with much of the original crocus finish under a light patina, light scratches and some spotting. The knife functions well with no peek when closed, both blades open as they should, small blade has a little kickback and locks tight, large blade has about 1/16" movement each way at the tip when open. EX- condition.
