Vintage EIG CUTLERY ITALY 33cm Italian picklock automatic knife made in Italy in the 1950s measures 33.2cm (13 1/16") open and 7 1/8 inches closed with D stamped brass liners, nickel silver bolsters, button and safety cap. This knife is extra heavy construction with 5mm wide backspring and rare "skinny ears" (finger guards). The bayonet style blade is 97% full or better with heavy patina, scratches, and spotting and the ricasso has less common "box stamp" stamped EIG CUTLERY ITALY inside a box. The genuine horn scales (handles) are mostly black with streaks of brown and in very good condition with some light handling marks from years of light use. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered, good snap and excellent lockup open with just a hint movement at the tip. Does NOT rattle if shaken with blade open. The name picklock refers to how the knife is closed. You pick (lift) the locking tab with your thumbnail to release the blade to be closed. Short throw safety works. EX condition.
