33cm Italian EIG CUTLERY picklock from the 1950s. The knife measures 33cm (13 1/8") open and is very well made with brass liners, German silver bolsters, button and safety cap. This knife is extra heavy with 5mm wide backspring! The name picklock refers to how the knife is closed. You pick (lift) the locking tab with your thumbnail to release the blade to be closed. This knife has a very full bayonet style blade that has most of the original finish intact under a light layer of patina and some light scratches. The blade tip seats deep and centered, good snap and good lockup open with about 1/8 inch movement at the tip. The front horn scale is dark, basically black with hint of color and the back scale is very light colored with streaks of cream and a hint of green. Scales are in good condition with some light scuffs from handling over the years. Safety works. Nice old 13 inch 1950s Italian picklock!
