Edgemaster Tinny Bowtie Bumblebee vintage switchblade knife USA
Edgemaster Tinny Bowtie Bumblebee vintage switchblade knife USA
Vintage Edgemaster fishtail switchblade with finger guards and painted handles made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1940s or early 1950s. I refer to these painted Edgemaster fishtails as "Tinnys" and they were painted in many bright colors. The bad news is that the paint wears off over time with use. Some of the paint is gone on this one, but still much of the yellow & black striped paint that I call Bumblebee. The knife measures 4 inches closed and 7 inches open with brass liners and steel button and safety. The blade is mostly full and shiny and has been cleaned. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open with a little movement each way and rattles if shaken as most of these do that have seen use. Safety works, but is loose. VG- condition.
