z Edgemaster Tinny Bowtie 1950s American switchblade

Vintage Edgemaster fishtail switchblade with finger guards and painted handles. I refer to these painted Edgemaster fishtails as "Tinnys" and they were painted in many bright colors. The bad news is that the paint wears off over time with use. Most of the paint is gone on this one, but there's a little bit of the original Green dot paint left on each side. It was made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI. The knife measures 4 inches closed and 7 inches open with brass liners. The blade is mostly full with patina scratches and some not-so-great sharpening, but not terrible. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open with some movement each way and rattles if shaken as most of these do that have seen use. This is a fair working example of a vintage 1950s American fishtail switchblade knife. She won't win any beauty contests unless maybe the judges are historians, or collectors who really appreciate the history. I call knives like this "well loved". ;^)
