Edgemaster Fishtail Red Sparkle switchblade vintage 1950s

Edgemaster fishtail with Red sparkle synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7" open with brass liners, steel button & safety. The saber clip blade is 98% full with original finish and a lot of tiny pepper spots and is stamped Edgemaster USA. The Red sparkly scales are in good condition with some shrinkage, but not cracked. The knife functions well with blade tip seating very deep, good snap and appears to lock open with just a bit of up and down at the tip, but if you put pressure on the blade it will close without pressing the button. The knife does not rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do, that have been used over the years. The safety does not work. Overall a nice working example of a 50s vintage American made fishtail switchblade in VG condition.
