Edgemaster Fishtail Purple & green swirl 1950s American switchblade knife
Edgemaster Fishtail Purple & green swirl 1950s American switchblade knife
Vintage Edgemaster fishtail with purple & green swirl synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with brass liners and steel button. The blade is mostly full with light patina and lots of scratches and is stamped Edgemaster USA. The attractive purple scales are in good condition with some shrinkage and some handling marks. The knife functions good with blade tip lightly above liners closed, opens fully and locks with about 1/8" up and down at the tip. You can close the knife without pressing the button. The knife does rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do that have been used over the years. The safety works. VG- condition.
