Edgemaster fishtail with dark swirl synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with brass liners and steel button with nickel silver safety. The blade is nearly full with factory finish and is stamped Edgemaster USA with some light scratches. The dark swirl scales are in very good condition with some shrinkage with some gray swirl on the back scale and burgundy swirl on the front. The knife functions good with blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open with some movement each way with about 1/16" up and down. The knife does not rattle if shaken when open. Overall a nice working example of a 50s vintage American made fishtail switchblade. The safety works. EX condition.
