Vintage Edgemaster fatjack purple swirl switchblade knife was made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1940s, or early 50s and was designated the model #102. The knife measures 4 1/8 inches closed and 6 7/8 inches open with brass liners, steel button & lanyard ring and nickel silver safety. The blade is 96% full with patina and some scratches and is marked Edgemaster in script over USA. The attractive multi shade Purple swirl synthetic scales are in excellent condition with some light scuffs, slight shrinkage and no cracks. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered, good snap and good lockup with about 1/16" up and down at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Very nice working example of a vintage American fatjack switchblade. Safety works, but marginal. VG- condition.
