E WECK & SON NEW YORK medium double Cotton candy switchblade knife made under contract by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden NY in the early 1900s for E. Weck & Son Co of New York. This is one of at least three different models of switchblade knives made for that company by Schrade. This is the medium double and measures 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/8" with both blades open and has brass liners and nickel silver buttons and safeties. The larger blade is stamped E. WECK & SON NEW YORK and the smaller blade stamped US PATS over DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 and JUNE 6, 16. Both blades are 95% full or better with some light scratches and a little light pitting. Very nice overall. The scales (handles) are Cotton Candy celluloid with tip bolsters and are in excellent condition. The knife works well with both blade tips below the liners closed, good snap and excellent lockup on both blade with NO KICKBACK (bounceback) which is rare. Both safeties work. VG- condition.
