Antique E WECK & SON NEW YORK double Tortoise celluloid switchblade knife. This knife was made under contract by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden NY in the early 1900s for E. Weck & Son Co of New York and is one of at least three different models of switchblade knives made for that company by Schrade. This is the medium double and measures 3 3/8" closed and 6 3/4" open with brass liners. The larger blade is stamped E. WECK & SON NEW YORK and the smaller blade stamped US PATS over DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 and JUNE 6, 16. Small blade is mostly full, large blade about 92% and both are shiny with no rust, or pitting. The scales (handles) are Tortoise celluloid and are in very nice condition with no cracks. The knife works well with large blade tip below the liners and small blade tip just above liners closed, both blades open fully and good lockup. Large blade has less than 1/8" up and down at the tip. No kickback. Both safeties work. VG+ condition.
