Colonial SHUR SNAP JUMBO jack Maroon/silver switchblade

Vintage Colonial SHUR SNAP Jumbo jack switchblade knife made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1950s. This knife is the largest switchblade made by Colonial measuring 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with brass liners. The blade is stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL USA and is 98% full with heavy patina and some pitting, but overall a good blade. The scale color is a less common one with maroon/silver swirl synthetic scales that have some shrinkage at the bottom, as most do. Good shape with no cracks, but do show marks from handling over the years. Works well with blade tip seating deep in the well, good snap and good lockup with approx 1/4" up and down at the tip. Safety works great.
