Vintage Colonial SHUR SNAP Jumbo jack switchblade knife made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1950s and designated the model #3301S. This knife is the largest switchblade made by Colonial measuring 5 inches closed and 8 11/16 inches open and 5 inches closed with brass liners and steel bolsters, button & safety. The saber grind clip blade has fish scaler notches in the spine and is 95% full or better and shiny with light scratches and the tang is stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL PROV USA. The Yellow synthetic scales are in very good condition with the usual shrinkage at the bottom on both sides and slight shrinkage on the edges. Bottom bolsters have a little light pitting. Works well with blade tip deep & centered closed, good snap, opens fully and locks open, but very loose with 1/4" up and down and a little side to side at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG condition.
