Vintage Colonial SHUR SNAP Jumbo jack switchblade knife made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1950s and designated the model #3301. This knife is the largest switchblade made by Colonial measuring 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with brass liners hollow steel bolsters and steel button & safety. The blade is stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL USA and is 99% full or better and shiny with lots of light scratches and a few light pit spots, overall a good blade. The Cream synthetic scales are in nice condition with NO shrinkage! Works well with blade tip seating deep and centered in the well, opens fully, but slowly (spring weak) and fair lockup with about 3/16" up and down and a little side to side at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open as most of these do. Needs a couple of drops of oil every now and then to keep it opening fully. Safety works. VG+ condition.
