Vintage Colonial SHUR SNAP Jumbo jack switchblade knife made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 1950s and designated the model #3301. This knife is the largest switchblade made by Colonial measuring 5 inches closed and 8.75 inches open with brass liners. The blade is stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL USA and is 98% full with heavy patina, scratches and some spotting, but overall a good blade. The Cream synthetic scales are in good condition with a little staining and a lot of shrinkage at the bottom, as most do. Scales do slide around a bit because of the shrinkage. Works well with blade tip seating deep in the well, opens fully and fair lockup with about 1/4" up and down at the tip. Needs a couple of drops of oil every now and then to keep it opening fully. Safety works. VG- condition.
