Colonial SHUR SNAP Fishtail Light Blue 3rd Gen switchblade knife rare
Colonial SHUR SNAP Fishtail Light Blue 3rd Gen switchblade knife rare
Vintage Shur Snap fishtail switchblade from the 1950s made before 1955 by the Colonial Knife co of Providence, RI and designated model #1800B. We can date it by the characteristics of small domed button and bolsters. This knife measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open with brass liners, steel bolsters & button and nickel silver safety. The blade is nearly full with light scratches and is clearly stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL PROV USA. The scales are light blue synthetic (rare color) and are in good condition with slight shrinkage. The knife works well, tip below liners closed, good snap and average lockup for a knife like this that has seen use over the past 70 years. Approx 1/8" movement up and down at the tip and barely rattles if shaken when open. Nice old 1950s American fishtail switchblade in hard to find color. Safety works. VG+ condition.
