Vintage Shur Snap NOS bowtie (fishtail with finger guards) switchblade with caramel colored synthetic scales. The knife was made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the early 1950s, likely 1952-55 and designated the model #1800CB. It measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open and has brass liners and steel bolsters & button. The tang is stamped SHUR SNAP over COLONIAL over PROV USA. We can tell it's a 3rd generation knife by the small domed button and bolsters. Carbon Steel Saber grind blade is 98% full with patina and lots of scratches from sharpening and use over the years. The caramel colored synthetic scales are in nice condition with some shrinkage, especially on the back scale at the bottom. Operates well with blade tip sitting  below liners closed, opens fully with average lockup with a little over 1/8" up & down and some side to side at the tip as most of these do after seeing some use over the years. Safety works. VG+ condition.
