Vintage Colonial PRONTO fatjack switchblade with Maroon swirl synthetic scales made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI around 1950 and was only made for about 2 years before they changed the name stamped on this model from PRONTO to SHUR SNAP. This knife measures 4 1/8 inches closed and 7 1/16 inches open with brass liners, steel button and nickel silver safety. The blade is 99% full with patina, scratches and some light pitting and is stamped PRONTO COLONIAL PROV USA on the tang. The attractive synthetic Maroon swirl scales are in very good condition with slight shrinkage. The knife works great with blade tip seating Deep and centered, opens fully and average lockup open with about 1/8" movement each way at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open as most of these do. Safety does not work properly. VG+ condition.
