z Challenge Double Black Celluloid switchblade knife FLY LOCK arched

CHALLENGE CUT CO Double Black Celluloid switchblade knife. It measures 3 3/8" closed and just under 7 inches with both blades open with brass liners. This is an early knife made between 1918 and 1923. The main blade is marked CHALLENGE CUT CO BRIDGEPORT CONN on the front and FLY-LOCK arched on the rear. Small blade has same front marking as the big blade and back is marked US PAT MARCH 5, 1918 on the rear. Both blades retain much of the original finish with some light scratches, and some light spotting. The scales are black smooth celluloid and are in nice shape with one crack near button on the front. The knife works GREAT with both blades seating good closed, large blade tip just above liners. Both blades open well and lock up tight. No kickback and no rattle. EX condition. This knife will be featured in the book Antique American Switchblades 2 and comes with a laminated Certificate of Authenticity.
